Wisdom
05:16
|
|||
In the darkness, I was conceived
Held me so, closely, I could barely breathe
The work of, a craftsman
Taught when I was young
Stars stretched out, across
The horizon.
Now I’m calling out, to foolish of the town
Come to me, awake from your sleep
Here I’ve set, my table.
The bread and the cup.
Opened up, my door, to anyone
Come and sit, hear me speak
Tie me around your neck.
Now I’m calling out, to foolish of the town
Come to me, awake from your sleep
X2 (tie me around your neck)

Closed Book
04:08
|
|||
I’m a closed book with dog eared pages
To remind myself of all the places, I used to be
You wont get, even one word
Out of my heart, past my shirt.
I would rather talk in my sleep
Then speak a word, that makes you look Ill at me.
I cant run, I cant hide
In my words, paragraphs of time
I cant run, I cant hide
I hate this land, at least its mine.
My heart’s been bleeding
I wont be needing any stupid handouts from you
I’ll eat my pride and vegetables to
Wont get up like deserters do
It’s a sad estate, I sure know
Its my home so you can go.

Walk Softly
03:15
|
|||
How can I forget you,
the affection in your eyes
Cause I’m getting tired of,
wearing this disguise.
Weary legs with crooked paths
Mustard seed sown.
Blind eyes groping,
trying to find their way home
So take these hands of mine
Work them at your side
Healing balm of words
Ears turn toward the sky.

Repentance
04:16
|
|||
When I was lost, covered in stress
Weight of my failure, I knew within.
Abandoned, by all my trust
Hard labor, turns to rust.
Yeah I dug this pit, I made this mess.
I was ashamed, so I got dressed
Came to your house, pled my case
Run on sentences, without space.
My filthy hands, they told the rest.
You gave me your heart, gave me your breath.
I was lost, in my head
Condemning words they said
“you don’t belong, you haven’t earned”
“look at your hands”, I heard.
I layed down, I gave up.
That when I found, it was your love.
